Introducing Womanswear with Carhartt WIP

Image
Here at Fat Buddha Store, after numerous requests, we will be introducing several woman's collections from some of our favourite brands.  The first drop to arrive is from fashion’s favourite workwear brand, Carhartt WIP, who have just released their Spring/Summer 2020 collection and accompanying lookbook, shot by Thibaut Grevet . The brand’s staple pieces — including stitched overalls, relaxed trousers and simple t-shirts — are rendered in cheery fuchsia, classic pastels and stable blacks. Pastel overalls and Michigan chores are perfect layering pieces as weather transitions to warmer temperatures. Classic prints and detailing can be found across a range of sweaters and tees. Versatile essentials including chase essentials, chore jackets and pocket tees arrive in a range of all-purpose colours. The Carhartt WIP woman's SS20 collection is available now in-store and online . Don't forget to check out a selection of the lookbook images below:

Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid Edge - Laserblue/Watermelon (Hack Pack)

Nike SB has been pushing out innovative and appealing product over the course of the past few months, and the latest release to join in the festivities is the SB Blazer Mid Edge — which has been chopped up to create a new “Hack Pack” style. Arriving in “Laser Blue/Watermelon” this in-line design draws its cues from popular Nike collaborators like Off-White and sacai for a perfectly imperfect deconstructed look. Uppers are constructed of a sturdy and classic canvas, the “Laser Blue/Watermelon” opts for a vibrant mix of neon-adjacent hues. The lateral Swoosh is absent from its usual perch on the midfoot, with nothing more than loose threads showing where it would usually be placed. However, it’s not gone completely. If you look at these Blazer Mid Edges from the top down, you’ll notice that this Swoosh has been juxtaposed onto the toebox, where it cleverly serves as an asymmetrical mudguard. It’s then secured by another triangular-shaped overlay that hangs down from the b

Carhartt WIP - Spring/Summer 2020 Lookbook

Image
Carhartt WIP isn’t particularly interested in today’s leading trends or the fanfare around such fleeting fads, but rather only concerned with making good, quality clothing. As such, the brand has adopted a no-nonsense approach throughout its Spring/Summer 2020 collection, recently sharing a sporty lookbook full of practical pieces that are marked by subtle design updates and innovative details. To showcase the goods, Carhartt WIP called upon a few artistic figures to star in the campaign, tapping DJs Courtesy and Vic Creeze, curator Tabitha Thorlu-Bangura and musician Oko to model the looks. The silhouettes presented are grounded in utilitarian influences and crafted in various durable fabrications, including sturdy cotton canvas and a GORE-TEX coating on select outerwear styles for an extra layer of protection. The color palette is equally as minimalistic as the garments themselves, with shades of forest green, khaki, orange and black dominating the assortment

Eco & Ethics Spotlight - Fjallraven - Sustainable Materials

Image
Scandinavian brands have lead the way in sustainability over the last few years with outdoor brand Fjallraven making it a key tenant of their brand. In this weeks Eco & Ethics Spotlight we look at the sustainable materials the imprint uses in all their products. Nature is Fjallraven 's biggest source of inspiration. It’s also where they draw their materials from and where the impact of consumption is most keenly felt. No decision is taken lightly. When considering a material they evaluate its efficiency, functional qualities, chemical composition and the amount they’ll need before making a choice. To help them make a decision, they use a Preferred Materials And Fibres List that grades materials in terms of their impact on the environment. And this list is constantly updated, reflecting new research and new materials. It doesn’t matter how sustainable it is, if a shell material doesn’t keep you dry they won’t consider it. Fjallraven must balance a material’s fu
