Felix Da Housecat at The Berkeley Suite

Felix Da Housecat will be tearing up Glasgow’s Berkeley Suite tonight (23rd November) for another set of house music and electroclash. His reinterpretation of songs by Pet Shop Boys, Kylie Minogue and Nina Simone has made him one of the most dominant remixers and producers on the planet. Felix da Housecat’s 2001 album, Kittenz and thee Glitz, turned the dance music world on its side as his collaborations with the now infamous Miss Kittin on “Silver Screen” and “Madame Hollywood” and Melistar on “Harlot” and “What Does it Feel Like” spawned a synth club revival. Along the way, Felix gained mainstream press acceptance and was heralded by Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone and Spin as one of the most creative artists in music today. Another weekend and another fantastic gig at The Berkeley Suite in Glasgow. Tonight (Friday 8th March) Justin Robertson (Deadstock 33s) mans the turntables at one of Glasgow's greatest club spaces for a night of electronic sounds and twisted disco. Justin Robertson's career in dance music dates all the way back to the Madchester days when he was spinning at clubs like Spice and Most Excellent, often frequented by two lads called Tom and Ed who would later become The Chemical Brothers. Now based in London, Robertson fulfills roles as DJ, producer and lead singer of band Thee Earls. As a DJ, Justin wears several hats besides the naff one on his head. Regulars to London nights Bugged Out and Together will be familiar with his mixture of ravey acid techno and electronic house while those who frequent Gay Mod and Sunday Best will know him for his eclectic sets of reggae, northern soul and pop. Going Out - Electric Frog Free Party

Some of our favourite parties of last year at Fat Buddha Store has to be some of the Electric Frog events, which have seen guests such as Jeff Mills, Moodyman, Felix Da Housecat, Floating Points, Auntie Flo and much more. As a way of thanking everyone who came along to the parties in 2012, they are throwing a free party for everyone on 26th January at SWG3. Things kick off at 8pm and you're all invited! Providing the entertainment on the night will be DJs who will feature in shows throughout 2013 including JG Wilkes (Optimo), Thunder Disco Club, Vitamins, Bigfoots Tea Party, Simon Cordiner (Melting Pot), GPMG, Craig Moog (Piece Together), Kev Stevens and Chris Reid.
