Adidas - BW Army
Confirming the old adage that less is sometimes more is the unbranded cult Germany Army Trainer known as the BW Army . With a somewhat confusing and ambiguous history what is known is that this iconic model began it's life as a standard issue trainer for the pre-reunification West German military; with it's deliberately understated silhouette proving to be it's biggest asset. This low-key leather sneaker has remained somewhat under the radar for most people but has inspired some of fashion's biggest players such as Maison Margiela, Dior Homme and Adidas; with each of them producing their own versions of the clean silhouette. Moving on from the luxe paint-splattered, fluorescent, even woven interpretation of the silhouette from Maison Margiela and Dior's Hedi Slimane Adidas have stripped it back to basics.
