Going Out - Million Dollar Disco at The Berkeley Suite

Million Dollar Disco return to Glasgow this Saturday night (18th January) almost a year to the day since their last party there. To say they're excited is a bit of an understatement, anyone who was there last January is sure to understand why. All this in the intimate surrounding of one of Glasgow's best club spaces, The Berkeley Suite. Al Kent was born in Scotland. His father was an avid record collector and had a cabinet full of them. And Whisky. Everything from Abba and Elvis to the Glitter Band and Buddy Holly was in there. What a load of shit they were. 
In 1976 Al ran away from home to live in New York. Here, at the age of 8 he started attending the Loft and hanging out with Nicky Siano and a whole bunch of cool New York DJs with Italian names. In 1978 he was arrested for possession of PCP while guesting at Better Days with Tee Scott and deported back to Glasgow, where his dad was now getting into a bit more David Essex. He was shit too. 
So Al opened....

Going Out - Disco Love Vol.3 Album Launch Party

One of our favourite DJ's at Fat Buddha Store Al Kent, is set to release the next installment of the great Disco Love compilation series in Febuary 2013. Disco Love Volume 3 looks set to be another killer collection of rare disco and the perfect remedy to shake off the winter blues. To celebrate, they have lined up a series of parties , kicking off in Glasgow of course, on Saturday night (19th Jan) at also one of our favourite venues The Berkeley Suite. The first Disco Love album was released in 2010 and was very well received, prompting a follow up: 2011's imaginatively titled "Disco Love Volume 2". Again, it was a very well received album. And so here we are, about to enter 2013 and Volume 3 is being manufactured as we speak. There's no prizes for guessing that it contains some beautiful, off the beaten track, di sco music selected by Al Kent. They have had some great events over the years in Glasgow, with some great guest DJs. This time though,...
