This week's magazines: Blueprint, Brand, The Wire

Landing this week we have architecture and design magazine Blueprint along with international design magazine Brand and for avant garde music aficionados the latest issue of Wire. The latest issue of Blueprint Magazine looks at the playful side of architecture and appropriately features Grayson Perry's House for Essex on the cover. A house from such a divisive artist that surprisingly seems not to have divided opinion, rather the opposite it seems to have brought people together in their praise. Another piece of playful architecture being looked at in this edition is the deliciously gaudy Serpentine Pavilion the temporary chrysalis-like structure opened at Serpentine Gallery. Of particular interest to our home city the magazine looks at the devastation inflicted on the Glasgow School of Art in last years fire photographed poignantly by Gareth Gardener. Issue 20 of Brand Magazine is devoted to cultural marks and how in the modern era they are slowly disappearing from our lives....

Having been in print almost 30 years, Blueprint has become known as one of the leading monthly magazines for archtiecture and design. Following its recent make-over, the magazines clean, large-format design sets it apart from many other magazines and features the finest critisicm, news and feature writing on design and architecture accompanied by photography and illustration of the highest standard.
