Nike - React Element 55 'Anthracite'

Image
Following the “ Schematic ” iteration of its React Element 55, Nike is back with a brand new colourway. This time around, the American footwear giant has given the silhouette a sleek “Anthracite/Blue Fury” makeover, adding bright teal accents atop ashy black uppers. Starting at the top of the shoe, bright teal bubblegum highlights are placed along leather eyelet panels, complemented by sleek round laces that come in a lighter shade. The striking palette is continued over the diagonal seam at the rear quarter as well as the leather backstay. In contrast to the bold embellishments, sleek black textiles appear throughout the body, rounded out by taped edges and tonal cut-out Swooshes — other accents include “nike react” branding stamped at the corner of the angular tongue and a wine-color rubber overlay around the heel. All of these details sit above an essential React midsole, equipped with rubber pods for added durability and traction. The Nike React Element 55 “Anthra...

Nike Grandstand II - White/Royal

Image
Nike ‘s classic tennis shoe from the early ’90s continues to pick up steam with the introduction of new colorways. A go-to sneaker for those looking for a shoe that is both simple and clean, the Grandstand II features premium leather panels that are detailed with three perforations on the lateral and media sides. Branding can be seen just below the eyestay and at the heel; with both the NIKE Swoosh logo and “ NIKE ” name embroidered in blue. Royal blue also makes its way on the detailed tongue tab, the inside lining, and on the bottom of the outsole. Unlike past retro models where the Grandstand II featured a gum-rubber outsole to accompany the midsole, this particular colorway sees blue trim that wraps around an off white vintage midsole — further hinting at the shoe’s past. Those interested can find the Nike Grandstand II in store and online at Fat Buddha Store and check out the images below:

Nike Big Hi - White/Wolf Grey

Image
In 2009 Nike resurrected the Big Nike High silhouette but with similar high-top shapes such as the Terminator and the Dunk still thriving the silhouette was left somewhat in the shade with fairly few editions of the model released.  Thankfully Nike have dropped this White/Wolf grey edition of the Big Nike High. Originally designed as an 80s basketball shoe the h yperfuse-uppered and Lunar-cushioned Big Nikes feature a full grain leather upper, padded collar, and a nylon-covered tongue. Prototypical details like the stitched detailing and iconic side swoosh and Blazer-ish heel block lettering logos have also been retained.  So if hip-tops are your thing you can shop Nike Trainers   in store and online now at Fat Buddha Store.

Fat Buddha Store Look - Black

Image
Black remains fashion's iconic colour seen season after season because it's timeless and suits everyone. It's appeal endures because it transcends trends, is universally flattering and is suitable for almost all occasions. For this look we have gone for a minimalist monochrome approach broken up with a hint of bold colour. The use of understated black allows you to play about with shapes and textures that would otherwise look over done with a daring colour palette, with this is mind for footwear we have gone with Nike's Air Max 95 silhouette. We love the Air Max 95 shape but it can be a difficult shade to pull off especially if you go for a more colour heavy model. The all black version allows the shape to do the talking and goes great with this monochrome look. The jacket used in this look is a classic coach jacket, Obey's Lo-Fi Jacket , again in black. This jacket looks understated from the front but is mixed up with bold contrast branding to the back to stop...

2017... the year of the Air Force 1?

Image
Is the Air Force 1 this years classic? There is a reason why some silhouettes stand the test of time while others fade into obscurity. Some models become such classics that they transcend fads and fashion to form a class of their own. Models like Converse's Chuck Taylor All-Star and Adidas's Stan Smith have forgone their roots in basketball and tennis respectively to become the go to trainers for sneakerheads and the fashionable alike. But we think it's about time another shoe was added to the list of go-to classics, that model being one of the greatest basketball sneakers of the '80s and lifestyle sneakers of the '00s, the Air Force 1. Already massively popular thanks to it being spotted on a myriad of athletes and celebrities and being the focus of collabs with some of the industry big hitters like Supreme, COMME des GARÇONS , VLONE and ACRONYM , it can already lay claim to a high status. Originally released back in 1982 we have one man to thank for it...
