For all those who have never heard of him, Blek le Rat is the godfather of stencil graffiti. He has been painting stencils on the street almost as long as guys like Banksy and Shephard Fairey have been alive! Even Banksy acknowledges the influence that Blek has had on his work, (in)famously quoted as saying  "every time I think I've painted something slightly original, I find out that Blek Le Rat has done it as well, only twenty years earlier."
