JR Brings Art To Rikers Island New York City

French artist and photographer JR shown above in his NYC studio is renowned for his large black-and-white photographic images in public locations, and his latest work in New York City notorious Rikers Island prison makes no exception. The prison is located on an island in the East River between Queens and the Bronx. His large-scale wheatpasted work depicts a large eye of an inmate who in JR’s own words “wanted me to choose his eye looking left as life in jail is all about watching your back. He came out in the jail yard when we were pasting. He’s 18-years-old, it’s his second time in jail. Even if no one will recognize his eye he knows he’s part of a bigger picture.” You can check out some pics below. Music Monday - Daft Punk!

French electronic duo Daft Punk are set to make a welcome return with the release of their fourth studio album 'Random Access Memories' on the 21st of May. The group recently released the teaser video shown below for 'Get Lucky', the first single from the new album, which features vocals from Pharrell Williams and bass from the legendary Nile Rodgers. Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter rose to prominence in the late 90's as a leading light in the French house scene and went on to fuse their dance sensibilities with a synth-pop sound with hits like 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger', 'One More Time' and 'Digital Love'. Their newest album, 'Random Access Memories' looks set to be brilliant if 'Get Lucky' is anything to go by. Palladium Pampa Hi - Leather

In store now we have Palladium 's new Pampa Hi boot in Leather in a new Chocolate Sunrise colourway. The classic French brand were founded in 1920 as a company that started out creating specialist tires for aircraft's. Their advanced tires, that were made by layering canvas bands underneath vulcanised rubber soon ended up on the majority of Europe's aircraft's. In 1947 Palladium put this same idea and expertise that was used in their tires to footwear and the result was the Pampa Boot. A boot that was renowned for its comfort, functionality and durability, so much so that it was adopted by the French Foreign legion. Perfect for the winter months ahead, the Pampa Hi Leather features a one piece moulded rubber outsole, woven label on the tongue and the “Palladium” logo laser etched on the medial side, hugging heel cup and are made from rich premium leather with a natural finish.
