Music Monday - King Krule!

If you haven't heard the name King Krule over the past week or so, then you must have been living under a rock! The just-turned-19 year old singer has become the darling of the blogosphere with the release of his first studio album, '6 Feet Beneath The Moon', with critics likening his sound to that of Edwyn Collins and Morrissey. Its been 3 years since King Krule released his first single 'Out Getting Ribs', but it looks as if right now the rest of the music world is beginning to realise that he is something special, with nominations to the BBC Sound Of 2013 poll and rumoured collaborations with Frank Ocean in the works. King Krule's young life has not been easy though, after refusing to attend school, he was given a home tutor and subsequently sent to two centres for the permanently excluded, he also suffered from insomnia and was put through rigorous tests for mental illness at London's Maudsley Hospital. Music Monday - Haim

New group Haim have been making a lot of waves in the music industry as of late. The trio of sisters from California - Este, Danielle and Alana Haim - have been quietly playing and recording music together since 2006, but it wasn't until 2012 that they decided to release anything. The three sisters are all incredibly musical, all proficient in multiple instruments and all had experience in bands prior to their coming together to form Haim and are now slated as one of the ones to watch in 2013. Haim had played a handful of shows supporting artists such as Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros and The Henry Clay People and then went on to release their first EP entitled 'Forever', a release which saw the music press go crazy for their unique r&b meets folk sound.
