Music Monday - Haim

New group Haim have been making a lot of waves in the music industry as of late. The trio of sisters from California - Este, Danielle and Alana Haim - have been quietly playing and recording music together since 2006, but it wasn't until 2012 that they decided to release anything.

The three sisters are all incredibly musical, all proficient in multiple instruments and all had experience in bands prior to their coming together to form Haim and are now slated as one of the ones to watch in 2013.

Haim had played a handful of shows supporting artists such as Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros and The Henry Clay People and then went on to release their first EP entitled 'Forever', a release which saw the music press go crazy for their unique r&b meets folk sound.

Following a successful gig at South by Southwest, the group were signed to Polydor Records and they went on to re-release the 'Forever' EP on vinyl.

They also received favourable reviews from the UK music press during their first UK tour at the end of last year, with NME naming their track 'Forever' its number 4 track of 2012, Zane Lowe giving major airplay to their second single 'Don't Save Me' and they also topped the BBC's annual Sound of 2013 music industry poll.

Their debut album is scheduled for release this year, so keep your eyes peeled!
