Colours - Celebrating 10 Years Of Toolroom Records

Toolroom Records is one of the world's leading dance record labels. From the humble beginnings of owner and superstar DJ Mark Knight’s Tool Shed in 2003, the label has grown in to an international powerhouse, achieving unrivalled success in just a short few years; smashing innumerable sales records, scooping some of the industries biggest awards and a globally renowned events brand make the Toolroom name synonymous with the best in the business!  They kick things off for their tenth birthday tour in style with a night and day event at Colours, Glasgow. The Return of Dance Mania Records!

  Since the early 80's and late 90's Dance Mania Records were prominent in the house and acid house scene, in later years they defined the sound of Ghetto house and brought it to the club scene for all to jack to by adding as they say "even lower and dirty 808s and 909s". The label put out dance-floor weapons from Lil Louis to Pierre's Fantasy Club (PF), rhythms from legends like Traxmen, DJ Funk, and Tyree Cooper with many in between.   Bought over in 2005 by DJ Funk the label took a brief hiatus for 15 years with next to no releases bar DJ Funks (#1001). There has been no work from the record label in recent years until now, and to mark and celebrate the return of the renowned label Vin Sol has treated us to a mix of the "Dark Side" of Dance Mania. Featuring old school classics from Tyree, DJ Funk and Houz Mon along with a new track being given away by Vin Sol, his new "Frequency (Factory Style)"which you can download from here . ...

Going Out - Bicep At The Sub Club

2012 has definitely been Bicep’s year. It's only been a short time (well 4 years this month) since Bicep first appeared on the scene, first as a blog , now as a DJing and production team as well as launching their own record label recently. On Saturday night (24th Nov) the Irish production duo,make their Subculture debut at Glasgow's famous Sub Club alongside two of our favourite DJ's, Harri & Domenic . Fresh from closing the season for We Love at Space in Ibiza as well as being invited to host Fabric London’s recent birthday celebrations the guy's have been extremly busy. With a hectic touring schedule going on they also manage to hold down a very tight residency at the world-renowned Warehouse Project.
