Cosmic is back! After a long summer lay off, the journey resumes in the dark disco dungeon... This time around they've invited their good friends out of Dundee, Is Kill and Marc JD who hold down the city of discovery's best loved club night 'Book Club' at The Reading Rooms! For their first Cosmic of the year they've invited local party starter Andrew Thomson (Huntleys and Palmers) to join them at the Berkeley Suite. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxx Andrew is the founder of the esteemed label and party Huntleys and Palmers. Now in their ninth year, Huntleys and Palmers have built a reputation for championing exciting new music from around the world. The label has seen some incredible releases from the likes of Auntie Flo, Mamacita, Drum Talk, SOPHIE and Alejandro Paz to name a few. It's the party season so we're spoiled for choicefor things to do this weekend but one event we're especially looking forward to is Cosmic at The Berkeley Suite this Saturday!  This year has seen Cosmic host a number of exciting guests with Luma, Jon Rust, Spencer, JG Wilkes, Ben Martin, Jon K, JD Twitch and Alexander Nut helming the Berkeley Booth. Without doubt our favourite guest to date, we are extremely excited for his return. Continuing the groove, Cosmic returns to the Berkeley Suite for another summer boogie. Keeping you company for the evening... Ben Martin~ A man who needs no introduction. A long overdue headline slot in the cosmic cruiser, Ben is accompanying the boys for a night of disco pleasure. Keeping with tradition, Cosmic kick off the summer calendar with a night of hot disco groovin brought to you by our funky residents. The last few parties have seen some excellent guests take control of the Cosmic Cruiser, however for our first summer boogie we are handing the keys to our cosmic residents - Joshua, Dondo and John. Normally on warmup duty, it's always nice to let the boys loose behind the decks every now and then. They have been dying to play an extended set for a while now and we feel its long overdue. Our residents nights in the past have been some of our most memorable grooves yet and we expect this one to be much of the same(and hopefully more). Tonight Cosmic celebrate their 2nd birthday by bringing together two very special guests. JG Wilkes (Optimo)~ One half of Glasgow's finest, a legend in his own right. Wilkes has been throwing the greatest parties for nearly 20 years. The Optimo duo have had such a monumental impact on the Glasgow and UK clubbing scene and it goes without saying how excited we are at the prospect of Wilkes taking control of the Cosmic cruiser. Spencer (Numbers) ~ One of the numbers co-founders, Spencer is the driving force behind Glasgow's top label and it's phenomenal success. With over 10 years of playing and planning parties around the globe , it is a delight to have him back in the city for Cosmic's annual anniversary! Wilkes and Spencer will be at the helm of the Cosmic cruiser, going back to back taking Cosmic on it's most exciting disco voyage yet. Tickets are available from Resident Advisor here .

Kick off the long weekend with disco from our very own Craig Moog along with the Cosmic boys tonight at Sub Hub. This is an open event and takes place at Glasgow’s freshest new venue Sub Hub from 7pm-12pm, the venue is open all day for drinks as well as great grub from Devils Deli & NO WAY BACK. This Saturday night (Sat 16th Nov) legendary DJ and producer Daniele Baldelli takes control of the music in one of Glasgow's most intimate  and greatest clubs The Berkeley Suite for this rare special appearance. The self-titled “oldest DJ in Italy”, is the founding father of the Cosmic disco sound. His creative blend of disco, funk, jazz, synth pop, reggae, electronic music, and African and Brazilian records – often played slower or faster – introduced many club-goers to a new mix of rhythm and sound. Hailing from the town of Cattolica in Northern Italy, Daniele made his DJ debut at 17 at local clubs Tana and Tabu, before graduating to the seminal Baia Degli Angeli, a glamorous VIP club whose DJ booth was in a glass elevator. This led to Daniele’s long residency at the Cosmic club by Lake Garda that opened in Italy in 1979. You may have already heard of "Todd Terje" if not you will soon with the release of his infectious "Inspector Norse" single, which is looking to be one of the catchiest, exciting and probably one of the most simple dance tracks of the summer if not the year. The video for it is pretty funny too, keep your eyes peeled for the full short movie version to be released pretty soon. Originally from Norway Todd Terje is a DJ/Producer who would be placed in the Nu-Disco genre. He started to build a large undergound following after he put out early re-edits and his debut single Euro dans, which has summer written all over. He's got one hell of a tache an all. The Norwegian based DJ/Producer who studied Physics at Oslo University is likely to have been influenced by fellow Norwegians Lindstrom and Prins Tomas, in creating modern disco and some really excellent re-edits of old disco classics such as Chic - I want your love.
