Red Wing - The Sawmill

Image
Taking inspiration from outdoor and sporting boots from their extensive archive we are very excited to introduce the completely new Sawmill boot from Red Wing. Available in Olive Mohave and Briar Oil Slick , the Sawmill boot is Goodyear welted with an added storm-welt for extra protection form the cold and wet weather.  It features a Cambrelle lining and a felted wool footbed to keep your feet toasty. The Cambrelle lining is completely new to Red Wing's heritage collection.  It offers great comfort and moisture management. The Bi-component fibres mean that the lining can constantly adapt to the movement of your foot and helps not only to keep your feet warm and dry but in warmer climates can keep your feet cool as well.   The collar of our Sawmill boot is made from the same deerskin as we use for our gloves to give a soft, water repellant ankle support.  For the first time since the Heritage collection began Red Wing have used "D-rin...

Edwin "BLEACH"

Image
To start the new year,  Edwin have turned to Swiss artist, Thomas Koenig to transform a selection of denim and mainline apparel using his trademark bleaching technique.   The multi-disciplined artist was given free rein to customise twenty pieces across the collection and took to the streets armed with a box full of denim, producing DIY abstract compositions with the help of his bleach filled spray bottle. Once complete, the finishing touches were added at the Orfèvrerie workshop in Saint-Denis, applying exclusive screen-printed artwork to each piece. To document the creative process, young Parisian collective CESTAINSI were asked to shadow Thomas to capture the project in its entirety.

Carhartt WIP x Awake NY

Image
The collaborative Carhartt WIP / Awake NY capsule collection is now live at Carhartt WIP . Combining Carhartt WIP’s rugged, utilitarian aesthetic with the NYC-informed sensibility of Awake NY’s founder Angelo Baque , the collection takes inspiration from vintage hunting gear, as the iconic Michigan Coat is reworked to include contrast pockets and panelling, as well as an embroidered brand lock-up on the reverse of each piece. Additionally, Carhartt WIP’s American Script jersey program serves as the base for a trio of contrast stitch hoodies, while three pocket T-Shirts feature both brands’ iconography. In keeping with the collection’s rule of three, it is rounded off by a Watch Hat beanie in Black, Hamilton Brown, and Awake NY Bright Blue – each with pop colour labelling. Carhartt WIP / Awake NY is now available from select Carhartt WIP stores and their our online shop.

Danner x White Mountaineering

Image
Shortly after dropping their military-inspired combat boots back in mid-December, White Mountaineering and Danner have reunited once again for two new iterations of chunky suede boots — featured are black and brown colourways tweaked with nuanced functional details. At the top of the shoes, smooth leather wraps around the padded collars that have been slightly minimized for a sleeker finish. The lateral sides come with a lockable zipper that runs diagonally through the upper body. “Danner” is embossed at the rear quarter over its premium pig suede base, next to its wide backstay that doubles as a heel pull. Furthermore, flat laces cover the forefoot, secured by metal eyelets that start at the top and extend almost all the way to the edge of the toe cap — a thin leather swatch is placed at the toes as a stylistic detail. All of these features sit atop a substantial tri-toned dual-layer EVA midsole that’s been equipped with a highly durable Vibram outsole. Though no...

Carhartt WIP x APC

Image
Marking a new chapter in a long line of successful collaborations, A.P.C. and Carhartt WIP join forces for the fifth time to create a genteel and elegant homage to French chic. Devoid of unnecessary detailing, the SS20 line focuses on the materials and cuts for which each party have become regarded; boxy workwear, washed denim staples, and stripped-back jersey layers. Building from a relationship that began in 2011, the latest collaboration references previous successes, and combines the iconography of each brand, as Carhartt’s uni-letter logo is merged into the typographic A.P.C. emblem. The collection consists of a number of recognizable Carhartt WIP designs, reinterpreted by A.P.C. with a selection of special fabrics. For example, Carhartt’s Michigan Chore Coat is seen here in a sleek cotton — a stark contrast to its heavy canvas beginnings — complemented by organic cotton T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies, all across a subdued palette of blue, grey, and khaki gr...

Nixon - Dork Too

Image
We have been loving Nixon's latest smart watch Dork Too . Below Nixon give a break down of the creators and ideas that went into making this instantly iconic watch: At Nixon we’re supremely interested in the makers and doers of the world. All over the globe, people continue to inspire us with new ways to make, change, create and push the boundaries of what’s been done before. The work these progressives are doing influences the work we do here to create the new and it’s especially fun when we get to partner with some of them like we did on the Dork Too. In creating The Dork Too, we drew heavily on street geek and maker culture. Sporting lines like a vintage answering machine, this timepiece has so much personality, it actually yells the time. To keep it real, we brought in two multi-talented makers to interact with the Dork Too and see what they would “make” of it. Emmanuel Carrillo. Industrial designer, streetwear aficionado, BattleBots designer, and self-proclaim...

Eco & Ethics Spotlight - Recycle my Muhle Razor Blades

Image
An icon of zero-waste, investing in a safety razor can be a fantastic way to become more sustainable. With the razors themselves lasting years upon years, and now even our packaging being completely recyclable, the only real waste product is the razor blades. They are, however, easily recycled- it’s only about knowing the how and where! Pictured: the MUHLE R41 Razor and Razor Blade in their new recyclable packaging. As most of our customers will know, razor blades cannot, unfortunately, simply be thrown away loose into general waste. Incredibly sharp, even the dullest of blades can pose a real hazard. Therefore, one of the easiest solutions is to collect the blades in a safe container. This way, the blades can be stored and accumulated, preventing any risk of injury and saving excessive journeys to the tip. There are a few ways to collect your used blades, you could, for example, reuse the original razor case. For a more long-term solution, however, we recommend inv...
