One of our favourite collection of vinyl toy s at Fat Buddha Store has to be from Amos and predominantly James Jarvis. He was born in London in 1970 and is known for his work as an illustrator and toy designer, also being a pioneer of the soft vinyl designer toy revolution. Beginning as a designer for the fashion company Silas, Jarvis now creates characters at his own company, Amos Toys , each character with its own personality and background world. This week, we were having a clear-out and found a few more Amos Toys, we managed to snag a few cartons of Vortigerns Machine last year, and it turns out they are now all sold out, just wish i had bought more when i had the chance. Amos graphics were always strong, and its a pity they went the way they did, as i reckon there would be a few more fans buying into the strong graphics, well thought i'd show my favourite 5, and if you get the time pop over to the site to view the full range (whats left) of our Amos Toys .

If you are lucky enough to live in London, and have a keen interest in Vinyl toys /art you should probably go visit 2nd AMOS Miniature Plastic Workshop. Here you will find a temporary store with tons of toys that have never been available in the UK before. From Japan exclusives to sold out AMOS and World of Pain figures, you’ll surely walk out with some goods, and even if you don't - just remember we carry a decent range of AMOS classics too, which we recently restocked. Always been a fan of Amos toys and with the delivery of the new CALEB toy, it got me wishing i could have some of the older ones back in stock, after AGES of scouring the web i found a dealer who had a case (12 pieces) of each of these bad boys. They arrive instore tomorrow, Witchdoctor  & Mr Waverley are £29.99, Mr Jubbs is £24.99, and this will be followed by some Mini King Kens and tote bags next season.

Late last week we got a suprise delivery of the brand-new figures from AMOS and included the all new Limited Edition 20cm CALEB toy: Each of the six figures features a different t-shirt and are actually infact SOLD OUT on the official AMOS website. For those who don't know who James Jarvis is, he is an illustrator and graphic artist from London, who in 1998 designed the legendary toy figure 'Martin' which kick-started the designer toy revolution! Jarvis has worked for some of the biggest names around - Sony, Stussy and Nike to name a few, check out the nike video he recently animated... He also did this cover for Juxtapoz magazine. We've got a few Amos figures in the shop, so why not head down and with the money you save on our sale , get hold of some designer vinyl with your change. ©

On Saturday Amos toys opened up their Stash to the general public for the last time. Basically the company has kept back figures over the years and they finally let them go to the general public. Amongst the toys were all the classics as well as special items, everything was limited edition. This time however once everything is gone, it's gone for good. Due to the current market value of some of the pieces they were sold at a slightly higher price (though still under current ebay prices), this was supposedly done to keep the flippers at bay and to try to ensure that the pieces went to actual collectors. Sadly the truth is that if there's a few quid to make on a toy the flippers will always be there trying to squeeze out some extra moolah, though Amos did say that if they suspect anyone of trying to sell on their purchases for profit they'll revoke their membership.
