Cling Film Graffiti by Glasgow Writer Rogue-One As a purveyor of graffiti supplies we are use to seeing a lot of creative uses for our Montana Spray Range but one of the most interesting developments we've seen explode recently is the technique of spraying directly on cling film to create mind blowing anamorphic 3D optical illusions. Slightly different to what we normally see this new form of spraying is growing in popularity mainly due to the fact that it's less likely to get you into trouble with the authorities.  What's great about this is that you can create a makeshift wall to paint on anywhere; simply wrap cling film, or saran wrap to our American cousins, around either poles or trees and your ready to go. This technique is also good because you can create these pieces in exciting places, causing no lasting damage and they are easily removable if need be. Good news for Graffiti fans as after a long absence and back by popular demand we have been restocked in Grog ink. Grog's buff proof ink is one of the strongest on the market being super permanent and really hard to remove. The formula resists a plethora of chemical agents and the elements, without any fading. After being in New York City for the last month, British street artist Banksy has finished of his "Better Out Than in" residency with an inflatable throw-up piece on the Long Island Expressway in Queens. The last piece from "Better Out Than In" sits above other tags in a used car lot. For his last piece, the English artist included an audio guide poking fun at himself and his project along with inspirational albeit sentimental words. In addition, Banksy also released his official New York residency T-shirt, although you’ll have to “"ake the jpeg to a copy store and make it yourself". You can check out some pics below. Our collection of Huf clothing has been disappearing in store here at Fat Buddha , so you'll be glad to know that we just had a re-stock of some of the Huf x Haze collaboration, and some tasty nice new items including the Huf x Haze LS tee shown above. Huf is the creation of Professional Skateboarder, Keith Hufnagel who in 2002 decided to open up a shop that brought the types of skateboard lifestyle apparel and footwear that he was used to in his native NYC to San Francisco where he was living at the time.  Over the years Huf evolved from shop to brand and is now a highly respected skateboard brand. All items are available in store now and online in the next few days, be quick as these won't hang around for long.

One of our favourite artists here at Fat Buddha Store has to be Kaws . Living Proof magazine recently got an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming exhibition at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. After a massive 30-foot Companion sat in Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station for a few months, KAWS returns to the city for a special exhibition at the legendary PAFA. The exhibition features both indoor and outdoor components, with a brand new nine-foot sculpture sitting above the front entrance of the Academy’s Historic Landmark Building. The indoor component of “KAWS @ PAFA” will feature over 60 KAWS paintings and sculptures, some of them newly created for this exhibition in the galleries of the Historic Landmark Building. The “KAWS @ PAFA” exhibition will be on view from October 12 through January 5, 2014 while the sculpture on the front facade will remain until August 2014. A new piece of work by British street artist Banksy has appeared in Los Angeles. Titled Better Out Than In , the piece uses the surrounding environment to depict a young graffiti artist throwing up flowers. The English artist has remained rather quiet since his last piece right before London’s Olympics shown below. The piece seems to allude to an upcoming series or show of the same name, judging by the text via his website . Details are few at the moment but we’re sure you'll hear all about it soon enough

Deep in the belly of New York ’s subway system, a beautiful untouched station resides that has been forgotten for years with only a limited few knowing of its existence. Stunning decoration with tall tiled arches, brass fixtures and skylights run across the entire curve of the station, almost a miniature imitation of Grand Central Station.  The station was opened in 1904, with the hope of making it the crowning glory of the New York subway system in elegant architecture and a place for commemorative plaques to honour the work that had resulted in such a successful underground mass transit system. It was to be the original southern terminus of the first ‘Manhattan Main Line, however the station was closed and boarded up in 1945. The gem of the underground began gathering dust, forgotten by the general public, as passengers were forced off at the Brooklyn Bridge Stop before the train continued on to the terminus to make its turnaround. Nike are no stranger to collaborations with graffiti artists, with some of their best Dunks during the booming SB era coming from these collaborations, so it looks like they've gone back to that tried and trusted formula with these new Neck Face Blazers. The infamous Neck Face, from Stockton, California, has been one of the raft of former graffiti writers to be able to make a seamless transition into the world of gallery shows and exhibitions, managing to exhibit his work all over the USA, Europe and Asia. This Nike collaboration sees Neck face use the slightest of touches to make the Blazer his own, with the 'Nike' script on the tongue and heel done in Neck Face's signature scrawl. The Blazers come in both a red and black colourway, feature Lunarlon insoles for comfort and are priced at £70, available instore and online now !

A new delivery of 5 Panel Hats has arrived at Fat Buddha Store courtesy of Only NY . The independent label began life in the Westside of Manhattan in 1997.  By combining  innovative design with a love of graffiti and street culture Only NY was born. Now 15 years later the brand and identity are stronger than ever, with items selling out in no time. We have stocked and been behind the brand for years now at Fat Buddha and always look forward to a new drop arriving in store. One of our favourite artists here at Fat Buddha Store is New York City's Kaws . We posted recently about his 16 foot Companion sculpture arriving at Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station to be put on show. His new exhibition has opened at the KaiKai Kiki Gallery in Tokyo. The Brooklyn artist presents an entire new body of canvas work, including many different sized paintings. His trademark characters and styles are mixed in new ways, resulting in an exciting new body of work, while staying true to what he is best known for. You can check out some pics below. The show will continue to run until the 29th May and includes all of the artwork shown above.
