Going Out - Supermax 5th Birthday

Image
One of the staff at the stores favourite venues in Glasgow, The Berkley Suite will be hosting the Supermax 5th Birthday celebrations this Saturday. The special Reich n Roll celebrations will be headed by Supermax main man Billy Woods with the legendary Bozak-Balmain Soundsystem. Supermax could be defined as a taste of the decadent soundsystems of New York's disco era. Providing a soundtrack that will truly expand your mind and open your eyes and ears to the possibilities. Described as a heady cocktail of the super obscure alongside the unexpected from past, present and future within a hot, dark, smokey environment that evokes the raw sensibilities of pre-commercialised club going. Gonna be a blinder, check the event page here .

What's On - Shut Up And Play The Hits

Last night saw the UK cinema premier of the LCD Soundsystem film documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits . A music documentary that foolows front man of the band James Murphy in the lead up to and day after the special last show the band ever played, which took place at their home turf of New York, at Madison Square Gardens. The documentary has stunning footage from their final show from cameras set in places you'd never of thought of before to create a more intimate view of their final show. The interview with James Murphy throughout the film also looks at the personal and professional ramifications of his decision to end the band. A real must see for music film fans and especially for fans of James Murphy and LCD Soundsystem. What was exciting about the premier was that it was shown at 60 locations throughout the UK at the exact same time and followed up by a live Q & A with James Murphy and the directors providing more insight on to the last show and other questions...

Others including the likes of Horse Meat Disco, Prins Thomas, Optimo and many more. Pete Herbert and Dicky Trisco are the resident DJ's of the Disco Deviance label. The Disco Deviance label has been one of the main drivers in the recent disco resurgence in the past few years with these two at the forefront behind many of the best selling releases.
