What's On - Shut Up And Play The Hits

Last night saw the UK cinema premier of the LCD Soundsystem film documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits. A music documentary that foolows front man of the band James Murphy in the lead up to and day after the special last show the band ever played, which took place at their home turf of New York, at Madison Square Gardens.

The documentary has stunning footage from their final show from cameras set in places you'd never of thought of before to create a more intimate view of their final show. The interview with James Murphy throughout the film also looks at the personal and professional ramifications of his decision to end the band. A real must see for music film fans and especially for fans of James Murphy and LCD Soundsystem.

What was exciting about the premier was that it was shown at 60 locations throughout the UK at the exact same time and followed up by a live Q & A with James Murphy and the directors providing more insight on to the last show and other questions asked in the film. There was also the opportunity for the audience to ask questions via Facebook and Twitter.

In Glasgow the premier was followed up with an official after party at the Berkley Suite with Glasgow party institution and friends of the band Optimo.

If you didn't get a chance to catch the film last night there is an opportunity to see it again at the GFT on 25 September.
