Going out in Glasgow - At The Berkley
The Berkley Suite, once a Victorian public house re opened it's doors in September 2011. The venue is all about the old school with it's marble floors and chandeliers and since it re opening has went from srtength to strength becoming one of Glasgow's hottest night spots. Andrew Weatherall & Sean Johnston hold a residency with their "A Love From Outer Space" night. More recently they have seen Derrick Carter bring the house down and also have Norwegian disco pioneer Prins Thomas lined up for June.
This weekend is The Berkley suite will continue with it's growing repuation of a great night out by playing host to Den Haan on Friday night and celebrating the Glasgow School of Art end of year with a party hosted by Supermax with DJ Billy Woods.
Den Haan are a duo from Glasgow who specialise in making upbeat, pulsating italo influenced dance music. They have already had previous releases on Optimo and last year saw them release their first full length album "Gods From Outer Space". It really was something special. Check out their blog here.
The Glasgow School of Art end of Term Party will be a big one for all of the art students celebrating the end of another year. It is definitely worth checking out if you want to broaden your horizons and expand your mind with a soundtrack made up from the past, present and future provided by Glasgow's master of disco Dj Billy Woods.
