Music Monday - Basement Jaxx!

Image
English electronic music duo and all-around force of nature in the dance scene, Basement Jaxx, made a welcome return this weekend, with the leak of their new track 'What A Difference Your Love Makes', a precursor to a forthcoming EP, slated for September. Consisting of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe, Basement Jaxx had been making waves in the underground house scene all through the early and mid 90's with their regular club nights in Brixton which featured guests such as DJ Sneak and Daft Punk. In 1999, the duo released their first full length album titled 'Remedy' which featured the widely popular singles 'Red Alert' and 'Rendez-Vu'. Their second full length 'Rooty', released in 2001, led to the groups first international hit with the single 'Where's Your Head At?', in part due to its inclusion on the Tomb Raider soundtrack. 'Kish Kash', the groups third studio album saw them work with the likes of D...

The Together releases by Falcon and Thomas Bangalter are certainly a fine template and eponymous examples of the French House sound.
