Carhartt WIP - Into View

Shoot on location in Portland, Oregon and directed by Hayden Taatjes with Mateus Lages behind the camera this editorial from Carhartt WIP showcases their reworked silhouettes.

Hayden Taatjes finds inspiration in the subtleties of familiarity. More specifically, he finds inspiration from his tribe of friends who constantly and unknowingly influence his creativity. Accompanied by photographer Mateus Lages, Taatjes and friends made their way to foggy Portland, a city regarded as much for its landscape as its obscure subcultures.

Locations were sourced discreetly. The lush greenery of the temperate forest and muted colour schemes of the suburban Northwest appear vaguely recognizable, as if conjured from déjà vu or a reoccurring dream. Every element, like smoke plumes emanating off unknown sources or the wrinkle of a sleeve, work together to establish this peculiar kind of familiarity. The resulting series is an ode to a place where sensibility and nature exist peacefully, side by side. The Spring/Summer 2016 collection is available in-store and online at Fat Buddha Store.
