New Brand: Piilgrim

Image
Tomorrow sees the launch of exciting new brand Piilgrim; the brainchild of skater Mark Kendrick. Born out of a love of skateboarding culture and music. The brand's goal is to create vintage inspired pieces with a distinct style, made utilising eco-friendly methods and materials. The product of a years hard graft from Mark who felt there wasn't a skate clothing company on the market to get excited about or that he felt he could relate to. Using a raft of references, from past and present, he has managed to create something truly unique. Through out the collection re-salvaged original fabrics from the 1960’s have been added into some features too. Mark designed the entire range himself, choosing all the fabrics and trims and tracking down the best manufacturers to work with. Working with a team of five of his friends this intimate working partnership has resulted in one of the best first season drops from an emerging brand we have seen in a long time. Here at Fat Buddha ...

Conor McGregor the Best Dressed Athlete?

Image
Last week Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather met face to face for the first time in a much published press conference but somewhat overshadowing the event was the hilariously astounding custom suit by David August emblazoned with the works "F*ck You" through the stitching. The controversial suit combined two things the Irish boxer is known for trolling and bold sartorial choices. In a sea of boot cut denims and spice boy attire Conor McGregor has proved himself one of the best dressed athletes in sport. Always seen donning an array of designer favourites whether is a precisely tailored suit or on point sports luxe McGregor carries it off effortlessly. So ahead of his forthcoming match with Floyd Mayweather we have selected some of his boldest and best looks. Win or lose he's still the king of style in our eyes. Promoter. Nike Big Hi - White/Wolf Grey

Image
In 2009 Nike resurrected the Big Nike High silhouette but with similar high-top shapes such as the Terminator and the Dunk still thriving the silhouette was left somewhat in the shade with fairly few editions of the model released.  Thankfully Nike have dropped this White/Wolf grey edition of the Big Nike High. Originally designed as an 80s basketball shoe the h yperfuse-uppered and Lunar-cushioned Big Nikes feature a full grain leather upper, padded collar, and a nylon-covered tongue. Prototypical details like the stitched detailing and iconic side swoosh and Blazer-ish heel block lettering logos have also been retained.  So if hip-tops are your thing you can shop Nike Trainers   in store and online now at Fat Buddha Store.

Herschel Supply Co - Pop-Up to Support Arts Education in Vancouver

Image
Everyone's favourite Canadian bag brand Herschel Supply Co have opened a pop-up ship in the picturesque waterfront town of Deep Cove in their native Canada. The pop-up represents the imprint's first stand alone retail presence in the Metro Vancouver area, near the brand's headquarters, with the space outfitted to look like a look like a childhood lemonade stand popular on the other side of the Atlantic.  The bold space has been outfitted in bold shades of lemon and pink with a standout element being the custom designed hand-blown yellow glass light fixture by Vancouver and Berlin-based contemporary design firm, Bocci . Along with selling lemonade by The Juice Truck the outfit will also feature exclusive Herschel Supply Packable Collection products such as backpacks and totes. All profits from the venture will go to Vancouver based charity ArtStarts In Schools which promotes art and creativity among Canada's youth. Check out photos of the slick pop-up belo...

Return of the Trucker Cap

Image
Image via @asaprocky instagram The trucker cap was an iconic fashion staple of the early noughties sported by the quintessential, and now mostly forgotten, celebrities of the time such as Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton and Ashton Kutcher. While the aforementioned celebs may have had questionable style credentials from an era that fashion enthusiasts will not look back on particularly fondly we are glad to see the Trucker Hat return with a more paired back and contemporary style. Largely thanks to a new set of trendsetters such as A$AP Rocky and Kylie Jenner endorsing the trend it's safe to say that the Trucker Cap is making a long overdue comeback this summer. Clearly identifiable from their netted back panels the style has moved on from the ubiquitous Von Dutch numbers sported back in the day with the newer versions coming in an array of different fits, colour and patterns. In the spirit of this we have rounded up some of our favourite Trucker Hats this season in a broad va...
