Edwin x Teide

We are thrilled to welcome the EDWIN x Teide collaboration which is based off of the flash sheets of Spanish born, London based tattoo artist Teide. His psychedelic style is heavily influenced by the traditional, Japanese and graphic styles of tattooing. 

Seven Doors Tattoo, based in London’s East End, is home to one of the most experimental American Traditional style tattooers on the scene right now and he’s known simply as Teide. 

Real name Mario Teide, the Spanish born London-based artist is responsible for some of the most surreal tattoos you will have ever seen. 

His psychedelic style is heavily influenced by the traditional, Japanese and graphic styles of tattooing. Similar to that of traditional, his style incorporates heavy lines but in contrast, he'll use unexpected, vibrant colour and the exaggerated details of his designs more comparable to graffiti art and the recurrent themes seen in modern culture.

Although old-school subjects are commonly referenced and rearranged as a way of expressing homage or irony in his work, Teide's fantastical subjects and psychedelic abstractions feature his infamous panthers, mythical beasts, religious imagery, surreal portraits and a full-on collision of everything in between, leaving no doubt that he is way ahead of the curve in his contemporary interpretation of the American Traditional style.

For Spring/Summer 2018, EDWIN invited Teide to produce a 'quick strike' for the Mainline 'souvenir' programme including 'Beast' and 'Praying Hands', both of which are original artworks that have been faithfully translated and embroidered on to two-tone nylon 'stadium' style baseball jackets, black poly cotton twill 'garage-style' work shirts and printed onto black graphic T-Shirts
