So a couple of weeks ago I picked up this cute little guy from a camera shop in Glasgow. I’ve wanted a 120 camera for a while and really should have bought something more practical and that perhaps 100% works... this one was a bit of a gamble - at 75 years old, he's a little ancient but the great thing about mechanical cameras is that they tend to last and this was no exception! All in wonderful working condition except the exposure counter which is stuck (not the end of the world however, I'm going to try get it fixed or at least learn how much to advance the film the right amount by habit) I especially love the view finder that you look down into, means that I can creep on people in the street without them noticing, obviously... When I was in Paris a couple of months ago I bought some film from the Lomography shop to try out whilst I was there. I had used some of their 'Xpro Slide 200' film before and loved it so quite fancied trying another colour positive film and so I picked up their 'Xpro Chrome 100'. Here's a few of my snaps from the visit - View from Pont Neuf over to Pont des Arts - Notre Dame Cathedral - And, one from home - Glasgows 'finest' Architecture - This films original intention is E6 processing as it's 'positive' film, however when cross-processed in C41 (as 'negatives') produces the lovely blue tones you get with this film. As it's 100 speed aswell it's still got some lovely fine grain to play with. The best thing about this film is that recently we got it in stock into Fat Buddha! What have I been up to with my time now that I am no longer running about inside the Fat Buddha Store ? Well, mainly taking photos! However, not just any photos! I have been lucky enough to get Laura from ITVs Take Me Out back in front of my camera. Which was hard now she is a celebrity! Make sure you say hello if you see her around Glasgow! Just before that though my friends and I set off on an epic adventure up the West coast of Scotland. From Glasgow to Perth and up through Glencoe towards Skye. The plan was originally to go just next to Skye but stay on the mainland, however, we made it up there with enough time that we decided to just go over the bridge and onto the Isle itself. Having always wanted to go it seemed like the right thing to do. We set off early in order to get a good sunrise shot on route...  As we drove up the coast and through all the mountain valleys we were amazed at how still the water was along the way. So the time has finally come... After nearly 4 years of working in Fat Buddha I must leave to chase my dream of becoming a photographer. I will still be working there, doing website photography and helping out but I will no longer be working in the shop. Sad times... Met tonnes of cool people, a few famous people and even made a few good new friends so thank you all for the banter and the good times! I also learned 1 important lesson...
