Going Out - Mister Saturday Night at The Berkeley Suite

Image
Tonight at The Berkeley Suite Justin Carter & Eamon Harkin will be playing all night long at Mister Saturday Night. Justin Carter & Eamon Harkin are two people that have done things their way from the very beginning, always looking to do something more interesting, something different, rather than following what has and does go on around them consistently. Gaining notoriety from their recurring Brooklyn loft party Mister Saturday Night, they would move soundsystems in to spaces not normally used for parties, giving their night a bespoke and hedonistic feel from the very beginning. Justin plays all night long in The Berkeley Suite tonight. Be READY! Going Out - The Sweet Life • Nightmares On Wax

Image
The Sweet Life are bringing the Nightmares On Wax back to The Berkeley Suite! Constantly touring worldwide bringing that nightmarish vibe that's more like a dream to listen to on the dance floor, DJ Ease was one of the first troops to release both a Late Night Tales mix and DJ Kicks Mix in the early 00s. His Boiler Room mixes are some of the most viewed on youtube with such eclectic sets that smoothly blend hip-hop, house and disco. An incredible producer who samples heavily from his own vinyl collection, he’s the real deal and surely knows a thing or two about living the Sweet life out in Ibiza! Sadly no Sweet Life parties in May apart from a wee cameo at the Chinaskis Garden Party… https://www.facebook.com/ events/302896763480950/ Other realities - Tix from £8 online at Eventcube. Ticket link https:// theberkeleysuite.eventcube. io/ We are keeping 80 tickets on the door for the troops!

Going Out - Million Dollar Disco at The Berkeley Suite

Image
Million Dollar Disco return to Glasgow this Saturday night (18th January) almost a year to the day since their last party there. To say they're excited is a bit of an understatement, anyone who was there last January is sure to understand why. All this in the intimate surrounding of one of Glasgow's best club spaces, The Berkeley Suite. Al Kent was born in Scotland. His father was an avid record collector and had a cabinet full of them. And Whisky. Everything from Abba and Elvis to the Glitter Band and Buddy Holly was in there. What a load of shit they were.
In 1976 Al ran away from home to live in New York. Here, at the age of 8 he started attending the Loft and hanging out with Nicky Siano and a whole bunch of cool New York DJs with Italian names. In 1978 he was arrested for possession of PCP while guesting at Better Days with Tee Scott and deported back to Glasgow, where his dad was now getting into a bit more David Essex. He was shit too.
So Al opened....

Felix Da Housecat at The Berkeley Suite

Image
Felix Da Housecat will be tearing up Glasgow’s Berkeley Suite tonight (23rd November) for another set of house music and electroclash. His reinterpretation of songs by Pet Shop Boys, Kylie Minogue and Nina Simone has made him one of the most dominant remixers and producers on the planet. Felix da Housecat’s 2001 album, Kittenz and thee Glitz, turned the dance music world on its side as his collaborations with the now infamous Miss Kittin on “Silver Screen” and “Madame Hollywood” and Melistar on “Harlot” and “What Does it Feel Like” spawned a synth club revival. Along the way, Felix gained mainstream press acceptance and was heralded by Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone and Spin as one of the most creative artists in music today. Over the course of 20 years his determination and willingness to re-invent himself have led him to a point that has now included a Grammy nomination, remix work for artists such as Madonna, Garbage, New Order and Giorgio Moroder; to DJ gig...

Going Out - A Love From Outer Space at The Berkeley Suite

Image
A Love From Outer Space drops into Glasgow tonight (Friday 8th November) for it's Bi-Monthly residency at one of Glasgow's great club spaces The Berkeley Suite with residents Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston behind the controls. Beginning in 2010 in a residency within the intimate neo-dinge of Stoke Newington’s The Waiting Room, A Love from Outer Space was originally brought together by the advent of an excitement held for sounds situated within the mid-tempo frame; a lower BPM statute which has accented the astral, the headlong and the brawny, melding disco’s drive and glossy gestures, the cosmic glints of kosmische, thunderous dub-sonority, and intrepid post-punk bombast with proto-house and that of acid-house; the background of perennial residents and night owners, Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston. The pair held a mutual regard for Adrian Sherwood records and moved in the same circles for a number of years before ‘the oasis of slowness’, offered by AL...

Going Out - Drone with Richard Fearless at The Berkeley Suite

Image
DJ and co-founder of Death In Vegas Richard Fearless has been busy with his great bi-monthly club night Drone at The Berkeley Suite in Glasgow, and tonight (Fri 27th Sept) see's him step behind the turntables once again. Having emerged during the earliest throes of Britpop as something of a musical anomaly, Death In Vegas have continued to confound expectations ever since. Formed in 1994 as a vehicle for Richard Fearless and then co-conspirator Steve Hellier's genre crossing experiments, Death In Vegas have maintained a high degree of quality rather than churning out an endless stream of continually inferior but prolific records. With Tim Holmes having replaced Hellier, 1999's second long player The Contino Sessions and its successor Scorpio Rising brought about mainstream recognition and commercial success, album number four Satan's Circus took an even more disparate route into Germanic territories and ultimately, remains their "lost classic". ...

Going Out - Wolf Music at The Berkeley Suite!

Image
Tonight see's the return of Wolf Music to The Berkeley Suite as the Wolf Music bosses, Matt and Stu, once again set out to turn the Glasgow venue into a den of sweat and awesome house music. After giving the world the likes of Medlar, Greymatter and Bicep, Wolf Music and putting down a storming set at The Berkeley Suite last year, the demand for Matt and Stu has went through the roof, with them playing to packed dancefloors all across Europe. On their return to Glasgow, they've brought along special guest KRL, who, in his first time in Glasgow, is keen to match the boys energy with his hip hop, soul and disco inspired set. If you're out and about in Glasgow tonight, this is sure to be a great night!!
