Subclub generally don’t repeat themselves but they figured around an entire generation of clubbers has probably been and gone since they last did this, and as the first one was so mega they thought it would be fun to do it again. The word "rave" has been much abused over the years. In our minds it wasn't all hoovers at dawn, helium vocals, cheesy piano breakdowns and hands in the air all night. A rave was a place where a ridiculously loud sound system was combined with sensory overload lighting to enhance the experience of dancing to all strains of electronic dance music with a vague feeling of "one-ness" amongst the participants. This is what they aim to pu t on in The Sub Club. The Subbie already has the best sound system in Scotland but they're going to double that. This weekend Stay Fresh will be launching their new residency at Glasgow's Sub Club ! After throwing several parties in the Subby over the past few years Stay Fresh have finally managed to hustle their way in to Subclub's already stacked program. Going Out - Subclub - Motor City Drum Ensemble

Friday, pay day, end of January…so what ya gonna to do? Well, Melting Pot have quite a show to offer, presenting as they do the mighty Motor City Drum Ensemble, a unique kind of group consisting of just one man. Simultaneously retro and futuristic, German House pioneer Danilo Plessow is without doubt one of the most in demand and revered acts on the circuit, having played all the main festivals, been a regular on the Boiler Room and even played a back to back set with Laurent Garnier. His DJ sets take in all genres from disco to house and techno, all seamlessly put together for a perfect party soundtrack. Here is a preview of what to expect: Unfortunately all advance tickets are now sold out. There will be a limited amount on the door for £12 but these will go quick so make sure you get down early when doors open at 10:30pm.

This summer on August 28th Sensu will be returning to the warm waters of Croatia for one of the most exciting musical festivals in the world, Dimensions. To celebrate this Sensu will be throwing a launch party tonight at Subclub and will be joined by Glasgow's own Jackmaster who will also be headlining at Dimensions. The world cup has started and summer is upon us so there is plenty of excuses to get yourself out this weekend. You can get your samba on at Subculture's very own carnival between midnight and 3a.m for a mere £5 and you can also get a sly free entry if you can name the 'special password' (the name of their famous Glaswegian-Italo resident DJ)  Subculture will be in the capable hands of residents Harri & Domenic so you can expect a cracking night. If you haven't seen Harri & Domenic then you can't have been out in Glasgow before, they have been putting on amazing nights for years and this Saturday wont be any different.  The night starts at midnight  tonight  so get yourself down for a summer boogie. 

Going Out: The Optimo (Espacio) Barrowland Revue

This weekend Optimo (Espacio) working along with The East End Social bring a great show to the Barrowland Ballroom. Starting at 5pm the stellar line up includes the Scottish debut from Norwegian electro DJ Todd Terje and a full live set from Golden Teacher . Between this there will be DJ sets from Glasgow's own Optimo, Hessle Audio's Ben UFO and Beats in Space DJ Tim Sweeney . This great lineup will be followed by an afterparty at Sub Club from 11 with subbie veterans Twitch & Wilkes along with special guests. Make sure you get yourself down this Sunday if you don't want to miss a great show.

Going Out - 20 Years of Subculture with DJ Harvey

Music Monday - Jacques Greene 6 Mix

Montreal native Jacques Greene has been making a name for himself since he first appeared in 2011 and has dropped countless eps on the likes of Glasgow/Edinburgh label Lucky Me releases as well as started his own VASE imprint with releases from the likes of House Of Balloons producer Zodiac. Including this he has also collaborated with the likes of Azealia Banks, Koreless and UK club night Nightslugs. On top of that he has toured the globe both DJ'ing and with his live show. A real talent indeed and all this at only 21. With all this in mind its no wonder why he was asked by BBC Radio 6 to join their 6 Mix series. With a set of upfront new house music as well as the vibez that have inspired is modern emotive house sound. Check it here . Going Out - Kink & Neville Watson Live

Glasgow's world renowned undergound dance club Sub Club plays host to long time favourites and friends of Subculture, Kink & Neville Watson returning since their last visist in 2010 for their very special live show. Supporte comes from the one and only Domenic Cappello. Since their debut as a musical partnership at the Sub Club in 2010, Kink and Neville Watson have since taken the raw energy of their music out live on the road, tearing up the dancefloors across Europe and beyond. With their imminent debut album coming out on Rush Hour, this live show on Saturday will demonstrate their joint love for the old sounds of Chicago, Detroit and much more along the way.  Check out this exclusive mix they did for Subculture in preparation for tonight's party. Going Out - Todd Terje

This Saturday Glasgow's Sub Club plays host to Norway's disco prince Todd Terje alongside residents Harri and Dom for Subculture. Be prepared for a touch of everything from his own personal edits and upfront gems that will have everyone getting down. He's known for all ways bringing a good vibe with a great selection and this is not likely to be any different. With a strong influence from his older Norwegian counterparts Lindstrom  and Prins Thomas, Todd Terje has been an excitiing prospect with the release of excellently crafted disco/house tracks such as Eurodans and Ragysh and is know for his own personal edits ranging from Roxy Music to Diana Ross to Adam Ant. Prepare for something very special on Saturday. You just know the place is gonna go off when he drops "Inspector Norse" his latest track which has been tearing up dancefloors all summer. It so simple but so catchy, perfect.    

Going out - Highlife 2nd Birthday

This month saw friend of the store Auntie Flo release his debut album Future Rhythm Machine.  Auntie Flo is a Glasgow based producer/DJ who holds residencies at Glasgow's Sub Club with Highlife and London's Plastic People with Huntleys and Palmers.  Auntie Flo is a real talent to look out for in 2012 and we are very excited for the release of his debut album Future Rhythm Machine.This year is really looking to be a good one for him and we recommend if you get the chance to go and catch him, he will be playing at several festivals throughout the summer from Lovebox in London to Dimensions Festival in Croatia. This Sunday Highlife will be taking over the Subclub once more to celebrate their second birthday this time with a special Afro Noise theme.
