Going Out - Moodymann at Max's La Cheetah

Someone who needs no introduction is Moodymann (Kenny Dixon Jr), who plays Max's La Cheetah Club tonight in Glasgow (Friday 7th Match). An outspoken voice in the normally non-confrontational world of electronic dance music, Moodymann is committed to keeping a distinctly black imprint on techno and house. While he may frustrate people with his refusal to be interviewed and insistence on reminding people of the genre's origins, the soulfulness of his output is unquestioned.

Utilizing classic soul and jazz samples, low-slung bass lines and an approach to drum programming that is diametrically opposed to the tendency to push the tempo faster and faster, he has achieved classic status thanks to gems like "Sunday Morning", "Shades of Jae", and his remix of Innerzone Orchestra's "People Make the World Go Round". Following years of 12" only releases, he compiled his best work on "Silentintroduction", one of the most celebrated albums of the late 90s.

His new album entitled 'Moodymann" just dropped recently, and is gathering rave reviews. This is a rare chance to catch him, as you probably won't see Moodymann in a more intimate environment anywhere else in the world. Needless to say this is going to be some next level business from one of the Motor City's most iconic figures!

Pre-sale tickets are now sold out. 70 tickets will be held for the door on the night. We advise you get down early if you wanna secure your place! Doors at 11.
