Commonwealth - Eating Out
With the commonwealth officially kicking off today we have selected some of our favourite Glasgow eateries for you to enjoy over the next two weeks. While there are loads of great and different places to eat in Glasgow we have made a small section of some of the ones we hope to enjoy over the Commonwealth.
Bread Meats Bread:
With more and more great burger places opening up just now it's hard to choose a favourite but in walking distance of us is the great Bread Meats Bread. Along with your classic burgers you can also get current favourites like pulled pork and gourmet hotdogs along with brilliant sweet fries, all at pretty affordable prices. The place is always packed so you should make use of the lunchtime takeaway menu which consists of all meals with fries for £6 or £7, 12-3pm, Mon-Thu.
Address: 104 St Vincent Street, Glasgow G2 5UB

The Fish Plaice:
Another place we are looking forward to eating is the pop-up bar and kitchen from renowned Glasgow fishmongers The Fish Plaice. Open from the 18th July - 3rd of August in the courtyard of the Salt Market the menu looks ideal for anyone who loves fish. Just take a look at the food above to see what we're looking forward too.
Address: 1 St Andrews Street, Glasgow G1 5PB

Topolabamba:
Just opened and also in walking distance of us is new kid on the block, Mexican restaurant Topolabamba. Glasgow can't seem to get enough of burgers and Mexican food right now and Topolobamba has a great menu offering streetfood and sharing platters more close to traditional Mexican food than you will find anywhere else.
Address: 89 St Vincent Street, Glasgow G2 5TF
See menu here.
Distill:
Formerly The Ivy, Distill is a bar and restaurant which in addition to running great nights and serving quality cocktails also offers great food. The menu is relatively simple but the food is top quality and rivals some of the far more expensive restaurants in the West End with a much better atmosphere. They also offer a great lunch menu which is 2 for £10.
Address: 1102 - 1106 Argylle Street, Finnieston, Glasgow G3 7RX
