Going Out - Tabac Launch Night

Image
O nce a thriving part of Glasgow City, Bar Ten was designed by Ben Kelly who was responsible for creating the Hacienda Club in Manchester. Since the 80's the bar was one of top spots to be seen in and attracted an eclectic crowd of post work drinkers and pre clubbers wanting something a little bit different from the usual public house crowd. After years of success the bar eventually pulled its last pint and was bought over by the same people who brought you the high end booze bar Chinaskis and the small but perfectly formed Berkeley Suite. Tabac has its grand opening on the 27th of March and aims to deliver an experience like no other bar has been able to manage in Glasgow before. Decked out with Parisian street lights and original decor from when the building used to be a warehouse back in the 70's, Tabac is set to pull out the stops with beers on draught from the likes of Williams Bros. and West beer, sold in a classy schooner form. Not only will customers be t...

Brand Focus - Ray-Ban

Image
W ith Summer just around the corner it might be a good idea to start thinking about ways to get your accessory game up to scratch and protect those precious retinas while you're at it. Ray-Ban have been around since 1937 originally providing the iconic Aviator sunglasses to the US Army Air Service to combat altitiude sickness and of course glare from the sun. From then on the Aviators and Wayfarers caught the attention of silver screen icons such as James Dean and Marilyn Monroe and in turn created and made popular one of the most recognisable frames in history. The Clubmaster has seen a wide range of variations since its birth and the newest models include classic tortoise shell frames with bursts of colour located on the rim and inside of the glasses. Adapting to new technologies while maintaining original standards can sometimes prove difficult but the collapsable Wayfarers (shown below in Havana & Crystal Brown) stay true to their OG s...

Outfit of the Day - Wood Wood, Carhartt, Ray Ban, Lacoste Live & Adidas

Image
T his weeks selected outfit pays homage to the our personal favourite season. A time where holidays are just around the corner and the excitement of being soaked in foreign sun in a crystal clear water filled pool is starting to distract you from your daily grind.  We have curated an outfit with pieces from Wood Wood , Carhartt & Ray-Ban amongst other Summer inspired items. If you cant imagine yourself by the pool with a strawberry mojito in hand in this outfit then maybe you're a Winter kind of guy. Or maybe you just don't like short sleeve shirts. Starting with the headlining act, the Cy shirt from Wood Wood feels like it's been taken straight from the screens of Miami Vice, and we're quite certain Don Johnson would have this bold number in his wardrobe if given the chance. A surprising entry considering Wood Wood are a Danish based company but a highly welcomed one none the less. Keeping with the theme of holiday garments, these Lacoste Live...

Music Monday - Odd Future

Image
With Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All or Odd Fututre for short bringing their live show to Glasgow last night we thought it would only be right to cover them in our music spot.  You should have heard of the outlandsih LA based hip hop collective who last year dominated the internet with their don't give a shit attitude and what some might consider offensive lyrics. Although they may seem immature and at some times vulgar they are a very talented bunch of teenagers and twenty somethings who seem to make music their own way, their own artwork, direct their own videos, music with their own production and lyrics.  They have just recently released their second album The OF Tape Vol. 2 a follow up to their 2008 debut The Odd Future Tape which was and is free to download.  Last year also saw founder and leader of the Group Tyler the Creator release his debut album Goblin, to critical acclaim. Other artists from the crew who have branchedout succesfully are smooth singe...
