Perhaps a bit late with this weeks Music Monday releases, this week we have opted Florian Kupfer's Lifetrax, released earlier this year in March. With his roots set in Wiesbaden, Germany, one of LIES Records' charted artists has treated us to a selection of track in the past recent months under the name "Lifetrax". With so many big singles receiving reviews as out of proportions as the track released, its comforting to be given releases from LIES records whom recently seem to be providing us with nothing but powerful slices of house music. Staying in the limelight for the past few months it seemed fitting to give LIES a spot on the Music Monday blog. Within the release of Lifetrax Kupfer has given us 4 tracks, Lifetrax version 1 and 2 and Feelin, version 1 and 2. In association with our good friends at the worldly renowned Sub Club in Glasgow and DJ Rebecca Vasmant we are pleased to be setting up a Fat Buddha Pop Up Sale Store during Sat 1st June alongside the record Fair, all housed under the roof of the Sub Club. The record fair looks to be great with a number of local vendors exhibiting. This is set to be a treasure trove for vinyl fiends and with a selection of local DJ’s soundtracking the goings on. This is already promising to turn into an unmissable hangout for the cities regular revelers. Bringing together local labels who will be selling their wares, and individuals peddling second hand records, t hink along the lines of an Independent Label Market meets your favorite second hand record shop.  In brief, this is pretty much the best way we can think of to while away a Saturday afternoon. Even if you are not buying or selling, everyone is welcome to join in and celebrate the music! Vendors will stock a mix of music...

Today is Record Store Day, and what a great day it is. The day first came into being in 2007 when over 700 independent stores in the USA came together to celebrate their unique culture. The UK followed suit and 2013 will see the sixth celebration of the UK's unique independent sector. This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists across the globe make special appearances and performances. Festivities include performances, meet & greets with artists, DJ's, in store quizzes and many other events. In Glasgow we are lucky to have some great independent stores such as Rubadub, Monorail and Avalanche , who have great events and guest DJ's playing in store today. Glasgow Institution Rubadub records celebrates 20 years in the business this weekend. The independant record store has been supplying the needs of Glasgow's diggers, vinyl junkies, and music heads for the last two decades now. The shop first opened it's doors to the public in August 1992 selling underground dance music vinyl to the good people of Scotland and beyond. Since then they have grown into a company that sells music, recording equipment, DJ gear and all the latest in music technology. Not to mention distributing vinyl to other record stores all over the world!
