Going Out - Sub Club Record Fair & Fat Buddha Pop Up Sale Store - Subculture with Mark E
In association with our good friends at the worldly renowned Sub Club in Glasgow and DJ Rebecca Vasmant we are pleased to be setting up a Fat Buddha Pop Up Sale Store during Sat 1st June alongside the record Fair, all housed under the roof of the Sub Club. The record fair looks to be great with a
number of local vendors
exhibiting. This is set to be a treasure trove for vinyl fiends and
with a selection of local DJ’s soundtracking the goings on. This is
already promising to turn into an unmissable hangout for the cities
regular revelers. Bringing together local labels who will be selling
their wares, and individuals peddling second hand records, think along the lines of an Independent Label Market meets your favorite second hand record shop.
In brief, this is pretty much the best way we can think of to while away a Saturday afternoon. Even if you are not buying or selling, everyone is welcome to join in and celebrate the music! Vendors will stock a mix of musical styles (Jazz, Funk, Disco, Soul, Latin, Northern Soul, House Techno & Underground electronic music)
Exhibiting on the day will be:
* Underground Solu'shn Edinburgh
* Jazzman Records
* Rubadub Glasgow
* Starla Records
* Mark Robb (Jazz/Funk/Disco)
* Gary Love/Somethins Cookin (Latin/Jazz/Soul/Funk)
* The Village - Inverness (Classic Disco, Soul, Funk, House music 89-90)
* Scottish Soul funk and Jazz Society (All proceeds going to Marys Meals charity)
Plus more TBC…
We will be setting up our Fat Buddha Pop Up Sale Store from 1pm onwards where there will be special discounted sale price on end of season stock and samples gear. This is fantastic opportunity to pick up some truly great bargains, with massive saving on the standard retail price.
A wide-ranging variety of goods on offer from Jeans, Jackets, Hoodies, Tees, Caps, Belts and a few Bags and Accessories, from industry leading brands like Carhartt, Edwin, Vans, Converse, The Hundreds, aNYthing, Addict, Wesc, Benny Gold, Rebel 8 and much more.
The Sub Club will be open from 1pm till 8pm at night, with lots of great bargains and finds on the day. DJ and producer Mark E (Merc/Jisco) will also be playing at the Sub Club that night too, so this looks like one Saturday not to be missed. You can check out the Facebook events page here.
Mark E makes a welcome return to the Sub Club tomorrow night also, playing Subculture. Mark E is synonymous with the ‘disco edits’ phenomenon of recent years but has many more strings to his DJ bow. Producing highly original house music in his own right, Mark runs his own MERC label and released his first artist album Stone Breaker in 2011 on Ghostly International. Always an exciting DJ, he teams up with talented home boy Craig Moog for this one. Musical sparks will fly.
This sounds like the perfect way to spend your Saturday in one of the worlds greatest clubs, taking in some record shopping in the afternoon, and finishing it off with Subculture at night. This is truly a day not to be missed!
