Gary Speed MBE - RIP
Sadly there was news that rocked the footballing world today, the death of current Wales manager Gary Speed. The 42 year old international manager was found dead in his home early this morning, full details have yet to be disclosed surrounding this tragic matter however, it looks like he may have taken his own life.
Growing up the English team I followed was Newcastle United and along with great players such as David Ginola, Faustino Asprilla before him Gary Speed became a hero to many a Geordie. Always a willing runner and battler it was his technique and vision that made him special.
He is still the most capped outfield player for the Welsh National Team and captained his country on many occasions. More recently as the boss of the Welsh National Team he had a great run of results and was seemingly turning the corner with the Nation and producing a team full of very talented and gifted youngsters as well as a few experienced pro's.
The footballing world and the world in general has today lost a great man.
My thoughts and those of undoubtedly many others are with his family and friends at this sad time.
