One of the staff at the stores favourite venues in Glasgow, The Berkley Suite will be hosting the Supermax 5th Birthday celebrations this Saturday. The special Reich n Roll celebrations will be headed by Supermax main man Billy Woods with the legendary Bozak-Balmain Soundsystem. Supermax could be defined as a taste of the decadent soundsystems of New York's disco era. Providing a soundtrack that will truly expand your mind and open your eyes and ears to the possibilities. Described as a heady cocktail of the super obscure alongside the unexpected from past, present and future within a hot, dark, smokey environment that evokes the raw sensibilities of pre-commercialised club going. Gonna be a blinder, check the event page here .

Keith Haring, who was a massive influence on OBEY founder Shepard Fairey, was a contemporary artist based in New York in the 70's and 80's. In the 80's his art took him to a level of international fame and he was then also was known as an activist and public figure. His work was a strong example of early downtown New York graffiti subculture and devoted much of his time to public works. In 1988 he was diagnosed with the HIV virus and established the Keith Haring foundation in 1989 to provide funding and imagery to AIDS organisations and childrens programmes. In 1990 he sadly passed away but his legacy lives on in his art and his foundation. Don't Tell The Bride - Mark & Jill Loney

Image
Long time customer and Fat Buddha Store fan Mark Loney recently got hitched to the stunning Jill Loney.  The wedding was done as part of the BBC3 programme ' Don't Tell The Bride ' where the groom (Mark) gets to choose everything, as you can guess he didn't choose very well and a normally calm and collected Jill went a bit mental and turned into Bridezilla. With good reason did Jill flip her lid, the wedding was held at the 'Wickerman Festival' the carriage of choice was a tractor, it was muddy.  This came the day after Jill was given the dress, which by all accounts wasn't the dress she wanted, luckily it got changed Jill came in last week shopping for Mark and warned us that the programme was airing this week, (Wednesday Night) and we were to forgive her outbursts, the pressure got to her, but she can see the funny side of it now. We can't wait to watch the programme and hoping to give Mark pelters next time he's in the shop. So, tune on o...

Hottie Of The Week! - Jennifer Metcalfe

This week its 'love a tart week', and what better way to celebrate than making 'Jennifer Metcalfe' hottie of the week, Hollyoaks just wouldn't be the same without her, and for a number of years, the only reason i watched. Jennifer turns 30 this year, and if anything looks better with age. For all the haters, who will be horrified at Jennifer being chosen for Hottie, just deal with it.!!
