Whats On - Glasgow Film Festival!
The annual treat that is the Glasgow Film Festival, which brings us us all manner of interesting films, discussion panels and exclusive events, is nearing its close as it reaches Academy Awards night tomorrow.
This years festival has already seen the premiere of Cloud Atlas, the Tom Hanks and Halle Berry film shot in our very own Glasgow streets, a Q&A between famed comic book artist Mark Millar and our very own First Minister Alex Salmond and a smattering of great independent films but the fun is definitely not over yet.
Some highlights of this weekend include the worldwide first screenings of Ryan Gosling's newest film, The Place Beyond The Pines, where he again joins forces with Derek Cianfrance (Director of Blue Valentine) for a crime drama about a stunt driver/bank robber trying to support his young family.
A Late Quartet starring Christopher Walken, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Catherine Keener examines the relationships between a close-knit quartet amidst the doom and gloom and doom of a marriage breakup and the degenerating health of one of its founders.
Frank Langella stars as Frank, a retired cat burglar who is becoming an increasing burden to his impatient children, in quirky comedy Frank and Robot. When Frank is given a robot carer, he begins to spot an opportunity for one last robbery.
There's definitely plenty still to see at the Glasgow Film Festival, so get yourselves out there!
