Going Out - Madlib at SWG3

Otis Jackson Jr. (born October 24, 1973 in Oxnard, California), known professionally as Madlib, is a Los Angeles-based DJ, multi-instrumentalist, rapper, and music producer. Known under a plethora of pseudonyms, he is one of the most prolific and critically acclaimed hip hop producers of the 2000s and has collaborated with a myriad of hip hop artists, including MF DOOM (as Madvillain), and the late J Dilla (as Jaylib). Madlib has described himself as a "DJ first, producer second, and MC last,"[1][2] and he has done several projects as a DJ, mixer, or remixer.
In 2003, Madlib announced two collaborative projects. Working with the late hip hop producer J Dilla, the duo known as Jaylib released Champion Sound. The other was Madlib's collaboration with rapper MF DOOM, known together as Madvillain. The 2004 Madvillainy album was highly anticipated and well-received, topping many critics' year-end lists.[7]
The 2005 Quasimoto album, The Further Adventures of Lord Quas was accepted well[8] and continued the Quasimoto tradition of using vocal samples from Melvin Van Peebles, who is credited on the album liner notes as a collaborator.

Through the rest of the decade Madlib would continue releasing his jazz material simultaneously with the hip hop work: Perseverance with Percee P, Liberation with Talib Kweli, Sujinho with Ivan Conti of Azymuth, his own instrumental hip-hop series "Beat Konducta", "In Search of Stoney Jackson" with Strong Arm Steady, "OJ Simpson" with Guilty Simpson, and production work for several artists such as Erykah Badu and De La Soul.

In a nut shell, Madlib is one of the hottest talents in the world of Hip Hop, both as a producer and DJ. His visit to SWG3 on Friday 1st November will be a landmark date for supporters of music that crosses many boundaries. Join them on the dancefloor….

Joining the Madlib show is a super-talented new DJ from Edinburgh, Eclair Fifii.
Eclair Fifi (AKA Clair Stirling) is one of the most popular djs on the scene and as of 2013 she is the proud host of our Rinse FM Show as well as resident on BBC Radio One In New DJs We Trust playing to an average live audience of 2 million people.
she currently holds down residencies for Paris Social Club as well as Hoya:Hoya in Manchester. She has recorded mixes for Juno, ID, Truants and URB and was Azealia Banks‘ go-to DJ for her special Mermaid’s Ball Party in London.

Also on the warm up will be Glasgow's Moogroove (Craig Moog) who has worked across the board playing music festivals, underground partys for Vacuum, Gallery shows for The Proud Galleries, Rankin and Djing for companys such as Nike SB, Comme Des Garcons, Dazed and Confused and Vivienne Westwood to name but a few. He has played residencies in Glasgow to packed clubs in Europe. Craig has played and been billed alongside some of the worlds greatest Djs and Producers such as Masters At Work, David Holmes, Howie B, Simian Mobile Disco and many, many more.

This is a very rare appearence and one that is not to be missed!
