Going out - Mediations in Afrocentrism with Romare

Tonight see's the return of Highlife to La Cheetah with a party that was meant to happen late in 2012 but instead is opening the year 2013.

Londoner via Paris Romare headlines tonights Mediations in Afrocentrism show with his unique take on African and African-American music which he generates through an innovative and wide-reaching method of sampling.

Romare released his EP 'Mediations in Afrocentrism' back in March last year on Black Acre Records after spending a year collecting samples of songs, speeches, films, field recordings and interviews and rearranging and integrating them with West African rhythms and voices from Harlem in an attempt to better explain the relationships between these two musical cultures.

You can familiarise yourself with Romare by listening to his Boiler Room session below.

Tonight he brings this unique style to La Cheetah with support coming from Esa and Fat Buddha Store favourite Auntie Flo, doors open at 11pm and £5 entry, not to be missed!
