Summer Blockbuster Releases

It's getting to that time of year we call summer when the clouds disappear, the rain is gone and there is nothing but blue skies, shining sun and hot hot heat. Sadly for us here in Scotland this is not usually the case for us. We may get a couple of weeks of sun throughout the following months but traditionally our summers are not as hot as we would like them to be.

Luckily summer is not all about the weather it is also the time of music festivals, time off work and of course summer blockbusters. When you are expecting some good summer weather and you end up with the rain there is nothing better than getting away from it all and enjoying a massive Hollywood blockbuster. Here are three massive films we are hyped about this Summer.

1. The Dark Knight Rises - The final instalment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy takes place eight years after the last film, which saw Batman take the fall for Two Face's crimes. A new character Bane has  terrorised and taken over the city and the Dark Knight must resurface to save it.

2. The Amazing Spider-Man - This film is a re-imagining of the latest Spider-Man films we have seen over the last decade and goes back to the start of the Spider-Man story. Featuring Andrew Garfield replacing Toby Maguire as the hero on a quest to understand why his parents disappeared when he was young resulting in him colliding with Dr. Curt Connors (The Lizard) on his way.

3. Prometheus - This sci-fi thriller sees a team of explorers discover the clues of the origin of mankind on the earth by journeying to the darkest parts of the universe and engaging terrifying battle to save the human race along the way. Although conceived as a prequel to Ridley Scott's Alien series, the director states it has strands of "Alien's DNA" but will explore its own mythology and ideas.

We are extremely HYPED about all of these bad boys. What blockbusters are you looking forward to?
