Going Out - Renegades of Funk & Le Freak

For this weeks instalment of Going Out we have hand picked a few of the most promising club nights happening in Glasgow this weekend. From dark basements to disco divas, we aim to guide you towards the more underground happenings in Glasgow, shining a light on previously undiscovered treasures of the city.

From the primordial soup bubbled over from Sub Club's weekly institution Sub Rosa, comes a new night full of promise, a night which aims to deliver unearthed tunes to receptive patrons who are there exclusively to dance and cut shapes. Captaining the adventure into the realms of forgotten funk and ethereal techno are your inter-galaxy tour guides, Nowicki and Al-Shy. Most of you will know Nowicki by now or at least heard the name but for those that don't check out our last Monday Music post. Catch the renegades at Broadcast on the 20th February, free entry all night.

This Saturday night brings us the launch of Le Freak at Affilion Studio situated opposite the river Clyde. If the opening line-up reflects the future of this promising night then we predict big things for this disco fuelled free-for-all. With live acts including Queen & Disco and Lady Disco complimented by record selectors Mob Disco and none other than Al Kent himself, you cant help but conjour up images of a sweaty and euphoric Studio 54. Plus, with a 4AM license you're pretty much guaranteed as much disco deviance as you can handle. Le Freak launches on Saturday the 21st of February with £5 door tax in effect.
