Music Monday - Jamie xx, Snoop Dogg, Numbers presents Loops: A Sensory Experiment

In this week's edition we are getting excited about the drop of Jamie xx's new track "Alba" along with the psychedelic video for Snoop Dogg's new single "Peaches N Cream" and for those heading out this week we will be taking a look at Number's Loops: A Sensory Experiment at the Gallery of Modern Art.

Jamie xx- Alba

Following on from his monumental two-hour mix back in December, Jamie xx returned to the BBC Radio 1 airwaves last Friday debuting a brand new track named "Alba", courtesy of Jon Hopkins. The track premiered alongside tracks from Daniel Avery, Fhoston Pardigm and Paula Temple as well as the School of Seven Bells remix from Hopkins himself. Snoop Dogg featuring Pharrel and Charlie Wilson - "Peaches N Cream" music video

Returning to his funkadelic roots Snoop Dogg has dropped the video for his single "Peaches n Cream" featuring Pharrel and Charlie Wilson. The psychedelic video features highly stylized saturated effects and will be the lead from Snoop's forthcoming Pharrell-produced album BUSH which lands on the 12th of May. Numbers presents Loops: A Sensory Experiment

For those looking for something to do this weekend, one event not to be missed is Numbers & Red Bull Music Academy Loops: A Sensory Experiment at the Gallery of Modern Art this Friday from 8pm - 11pm.

Drawing on 12 years of experience in unifying music and digital art, Numbers and Studio Remote will present an immersive experience titled ‘Loops: A Sensory Experiment’ in the gallery’s stunning main space. The centrepiece of the installation will be an epic sphere, positioned among the columns of the gallery’s atrium, depicting ever-changing, elemental landscapes soundtracked by a series of specially commissioned audio provided by Numbers artists and some of our closest musical friends.

Three dimensional surround-sound and lighting will flow around the space, complementing the room’s iconic architecture and natural acoustics, turning one of Glasgow’s grandest historic halls into an endless loop of possibilities.

This event is part of the Red Bull Music Academy UK Tour with support from Pufferfish.
