Sole Bloc Sneaker Festival - Glasgow

Glasgow has long been a city with more sneakerheads than a city with it's population should so we are thrilled that Sole Bloc, Scotland's first and only true sneaker event, will be opening it's door on August 1st.

The Sole Bloc Sneaker Festival will take place at the SWG3 in Glasgow's west end on Saturday, August 1 from 11am. For those not in the know SWG3, a former Glasgow Custom & Excise tobacco bond, has garnered a reputation as one of the premier spaces in Glasgow for live music, fashions shows and media performances and will serve as the ideal backdrop for the festival.

The event, a showcase of all things sneaker, will feature a mixture of private sellers, retailers and stalls from several premium brands. Streetfood will also be on offer while music will be provided throughout the day by some of our favorite DJ's.

The festival is the brain child of Mark Robinson, Rob Stewart and Alan Lynn. Rob is the man behind the Instagram New Balance Gallery page while both him and Alan run SneakersER, a trainer cleaner and restoration company.

Fat Buddha Store itself will be setting up shop along with Hanon, Abandon Ship, Forty Clothing, Focus, Schuh, SneakersER, New Balance Gallery and many more. There will be lots on offer to win with Hanon offering a sneaker raffle while Schuh will be running a free fairground style claw machine offering guests the chance to win free shoes. The SneakerER team will also be there, doing what they do best, cleaning and fixing up your old or worn out trainers and restoring them to their former glory.

The festival also offers true sneakerheads the opportunity to get their hands on a pair of the hugely sought after, and teasingly limited, Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 from the mammoth collab between Germany imprint Adidas and the enfant terrible of hip hop Kayne West.

Headlining the festival will be Beardyman along with our very own Craig Moog and many others. There will also be an afterparty which we will look at in more detail in our Going Out blog post this Friday.

Tickets cost £4 for entry, £10 for the after party and £20 for VIP access which can be bought here.

VIP tickets will allow visitors to come along an hour earlier to check out the stock before anyone else, a goodie bag plus coffee and cake. The Sole Bloc Sneaker Festival is still on the lookout for vendors - so if your interested you can get in touch by emailing info@solebloc.com.
