UBIQ x Brooks Heritage Fusion "Reserve"
After a stellar collab at the start of the year Philadelphian sneaker mammoth UBIQ are once again teaming up with heritage running brand Brooks.
After a string of collabs from Brook's in their Chariot silhouette it's nice to see the more robust '90s Fusion shape at the helm this time. The shoe's aesthetic is inspired by the age old art of wine-making and accordingly features a colour pallet of deep red with hues of rich cream across the toe box, tongue and heel. You're maybe wondering where the idea for the colourway came from well surprisingly Philadelphia, the hometown of UBIQ, makes some of the best wine in America. But what does it really matter where the idea came from when the colourway looks this good?
The hued colors are complimented by the richness of the materials used with the uppers a combination of premium leather and nubuck suede paneling. Just like in wine making with these sneakers the devil is in the detail with subtle touches such as dark navy accents on the side stripe and heel, waxed laces and a 3M reflective trim on the forefoot and heel completing the look. Another nice touch is the collaborative branding inside the shoe executed in cork... of course. Contrasting the rich colourway is a crisp white midsole, punctuated by an air bubble in the heel, which sits atop a practical black outsole.
The shoes come in a super fly custom printed box which resembles a wine barrel, a less than subtle nod to the sneakers overall concept. Look out for these when they drop next week in store and online at Fat Buddha Store.
