Asics - Gel Lyte III & Gel Saga April 2013
Asics are dropping some amazing colours in their Gel Lyte III and Gel-Saga models, and these most recent two make no exception. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro
Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by
manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose
the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase
"Anima Sana In Corpore Sano", which when translated expresses the
ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym
of this phrase, Asics was founded on the belief that the best way to create a
healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Asics continue the spree of success with the Gel-Lyte III
in a Purple and Grey colourway shown above and below, topped off with a contrasting lime
spliced tongue. The Gel-Lyt III has maintained a status as a powerful
shoe since its debut in 1989, released as an innovative runner shoe the
profile has remained virtually untouched remaining as distinctive as
ever.
Using black suede and nylon for the basis of the Gel Saga runner, Asics have went for Cool Mint and Grey colour options to highlight the depth of the Blacks shown below. Keeping with the speckled midsole similar to the earlier released Saga's, the Black/Lt.Grey option has a highlighted mint sole section as well has heel and tongue branding. A classic 90's runner profile not to be forgotten thanks to the release of great new colourways, the Gel Saga in Black/Lt.Grey is sure to be an instant classic. You can check out the picks below.
Both shoes are available in store now, and online tomorrow at Fat Buddha Store, alongside lots more from the Asics range. You can browse the collection here.
