8 for '08

Happy new year everyone! Hope you've all recovered from the excesses of the holiday season and are roaring full steam ahead into 2009. 2008 was a good year for me, the highlights being able to see Carl Cox play at Burning Man at probably the best outdoor venue on the planet, Opulent Temple, and getting to see the Inland Knights, Jay West and DJ Mes play right here in Glasgow at Fiasco.

Before I get right into 2009, I'd like to pause for a minute and have a quick look back at whats been happening online in the world of house music over the past 12 months. Here’s a rundown of 8 of my top podcast / online mixes from 2008, in no particular order.

These mixes pretty much sum up what I've been listening to the past year, with Frankie J, Mes, Youngman, Bobby & Klein keeping it jazzy and jackin', Gavin Burrows, Oliver $ and HiJack dropping fat, glitchy, electronic sounds, and Groove Armada playing one of the sets of the summer, kicking off their new Wonderland night at Space in Ibiza.
